Prof. Oleg Krishtal is a world-known neurophysiologist and one of the top-cited Ukrainian scientists. His main discoveries are:
- first intracellular perfusion (1975)
- ASICs - receptors for protons (1980)
- P2X - ionotropic ATP receptors (1983)
